Who is Mama E?

Well speaking about someone I know and love dearly – ME! I’m actually Etta Lassiter-Douglas’ alter ego. I am just an ordinary life loving black American woman who has strong opinions and will always stand up for the young, the ignorant (I love to educate), and the just plain stupid!
Mama E, you said the just plain stupid? What do you mean by that?
You do know the definition of “stupid” don’t you? Sometimes in stupid folks you find genius. Don’t ask for any examples, I do not want my stupid geniuses to know who they are! Ha Ha!!
Mama E, tell us more about you.
(Rattle Rattle) Oops!! Those are the bones in my closet. The skeletons start to dance if they think they are being exposed!! (Rattle Rattle Rattle)
Well, all kidding aside, what exactly do you want to know…but be careful…I must warn you….there are some things I will not yet expose. I’m being mysterious, hunh? Well that is part of me, my mystic. One never knows what I will do; I am not a creature of habit. I’m spontaneous. But you will find out more about that as everyone gets to know me and the “powers” I possess.
Mama E, you said “POWERS”?
Yeah, like superman!! ROFL!! Well power is an overstatement. Ha Ha Ha!! You are so easy.
What is your favorite type of music?
Well I was raised by true music lovers, my father an entertainer, my mom a groupie (oops!) and my grandmother playing the blues on the organ for her husbands (yep plural, and believe it at the same time…) my favorite music is Old School Gospel music. I love the Mighty Clouds of Joy, the Violinaires, and the Gospel Keynotes, just to name a few. Then I LOVE old school R&B – give me some Maxwell, OJays, Frankie Beverly and Lord how I love Prince’s ”Purple Rain”!!
Can I ask you a personal question?
If you can stand the answer, go ahead!
Ummmmmmmm are you married, do you have a boyfriend or significant other?
Why? You know someone who is interested? I am a single heterosexual woman with my eyes open for the next good man who can tolerate me. No better yet, who I can tolerate. But trust me; I have had some fun times in my life. Further in this Mama E Saga, I will include some of, what I call Etta stories! Stay tuned for the juice!!! (o;
OK OK something a little more general, what is your favorite food?
I guess one would think that I would say Chinese food, because I love going to China so much. But I am a good old fashioned soul food lover. And when I say I love soul food, I do….give me some chittlins, collard greens and potato salad with freshly made, sweet and I mean very sweet, lemonade….oh I just may orgasm thinking about it. Finish that off with a piece of warm deep dish apple pie….ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm – ok now you know my weakness…good news, my cholesterol is absolutely perfect!!!
Mama E, a birdie told me that you wil be writing an advice column; is that true? If so why?
Well that birdie gets around, I heard that too. In fact Ms Tweety is partially correct. It’s an opinion column. For so many years a lot of my friends would often come to me for my opinion on issues that are important and life altering for them. Did I say I am brutally candid, and lack tact sometimes? Well anyway there are times in our lives when we need candor and no nonsense – the real deal. Am I equipped to do that? Yes I certainly am…I have a PHD in life and trust me graduated Cum Laude…. Anyway, I have found that a lot of people have some of the same questions or comments and so I thought I would share what I know or what I suggested. I will probably have to write a disclaimer of some sort, because I do not want anyone to be under the impression that I am a professional therapist or psychiatrist or something, although I may recommend one to seek licensed counsel, you know “get help fool”! There are so many crazy folk out here!! They call me crazy too!! Anyway, you got the skinny. I will let all my BFF’s know when it will start. Now no more questions, I have a play to get completed to tour Texas and China.

Hey there! You are right about the "buzz" thing. The plan is that the column is placed on the website that GrapevineStar is constructing for us. I am also the Chairman of a non profit foundation, American Black Cultural World Trade Association Inc. What we do is facilitate trade and delegations to China for small to medium sized minority owned businesses and anyone else who wishes to have that opportunity. The column will also be featured on this website once it is constructed. I plan to put the business questions on that site. Anyway, dear heart, we are off and running. Girl paleeeze!! Internet dating is opening yourself up to the froggies out there. But think about how many froggies we have kissed and married (still waiting for the prince change) before the internet? So if there are a lot of Froggies in "real life" they must overflow into the internet pond. There have been some who "lucked up" on finding "the one"! Think about it my dear, how many "the ones" have we had in our life's journey without the Internet? My thought on the date links and websites is this, men and women go to those sights for different reasons. The majority of women are looking for "the one" but the men are looking for the ever over estimated NOOKIE! Fact of life my dear. So if you are not just looking for a casual sexual relationship, save your money....Stop looking and just live and enjoy your life! Much Love, Mama E
